MLH announces $53M expansion project to be completed by 2018

In response to a rapidly growing population and due to continuous increase in demand for their high quality healthcare services from Lebanon and abroad, from both physicians and patients, Mount Lebanon Hospital – Gharios Medical Center is expanding its current facilities. Recently the Hospital has acquired the internationally acclaimed and prestigious American accreditation from the Joint Commission international. To meet the community need and to allow as many patients as possible to benefit from its care Mount Lebanon Hospital – Gharios Medical Center embarks on a very courageous project, in the midst of difficult economic times. The project is meant to resolve many of the issues faced by patients today due to the current limitations in the healthcare sector, and to improve the working environment of its physicians and staff. The addition of around 24 000 meter square of new building construction, will lead to a marked increase in bed capacity with an expected addition of 200 beds, which aims to guarantee approval for all emergency hospital admissions. The need for new clinical care services has also been identified, and met with new obesity center, neuro-radiology center and many others. To increase the level of comfort the project includes a large underground parking space and resting areas, as well as work offices and a capacity to expand its available departments, markedly the dialysis, intensive care, isolation and research units.
