The Pulmonary Department at Mount Lebanon Hospital offers complete evaluation and treatment of all general disorders of the respiratory system.
Conditions may include (but not limited to): Shortness of breath, Chronic Cough, Chest Pain, Hemoptysis (Coughing of blood), Pneumonia and other infections, Asthma, COPD and Emphysema, Acute and Chronic Pulmonary Emboli, Pulmonary Hypertension, Sarcoidosis, Interstitial Lung Diseases, Pulmonary Vascular Diseases, Lung Cancer and Sleep Disorders.
Interventional Procedures, such as CT Guided lung biopsies, are coordinated with the Radiology Department.When thoracic surgery is recommended, we work in collaboration with thoracic surgeons to provide the best care available for our patients.
We provide comprehensive Lung Cancer diagnosis and treatment options. Lung Cancer treatment is based on the type and stage of the tumor, and the patient’s general medical condition.
Treatment options include surgery, radiation, chemotherapy or a combination of these treatments.
Team work with Medical Oncologists, Radio Oncologists and Thoracic Surgeons is our policy to select the most appropriate treatment for each patient.
Respiratory Therapists (Inhalation Team) are important members of the health care team in the Pulmonary Department. They work under the supervision of physicians, providing the best outcome for
the patient.
Mount Lebanon Hospital is affiliated with the Lebanese University Faculty of Medicine. Interns and Residents in Internal Medicine rotate through the Pulmonary Department during their training.
