The Mount Lebanon Hospital University Medical Center Orthopedic Surgery Service offers a wide range of surgical and nonsurgical treatment options for bone and joint diseases and injuries along with specialized children orthopedic surgery and care.

Combining the best in orthopedic medicine and surgical care along with strong diagnostic imaging tools and a full range of equipment, prostheses, and supplies, our expert surgeons are renowned for outstanding orthopedic care.

Different types of advanced techniques are performed

  • Joint reconstruction and replacement including total hip replacement, total and partial knee replacement, and shoulder replacement.
  • Total hip replacement and revision by minimally invasive Direct Anterior approach.
  • Revision and correction of failed total joints replacements including infected total joint replacement, in collaboration with infections disease service.
  • Joints problems and deviation correction by osteotomies
  • Limbs lengthening and correction using external fixation
  • Corrective surgery of the foot, ankle, wrist, shoulder, elbow, and hand
  • Cancer Resection and Reconstruction of soft tissue, bones and articulations in the limbs, as well as metastatic tumors in collaboration with medical oncologists and radiation oncologists
  • Spinal surgery, including treatment of degenerative diseases, Spinal deformity (scoliosis, Kyphosis, ..) correction and reconstruction for patients with spinal bone tumors.
  • Mini invasive spinal surgery
  • Sports medicine and surgery for teens and adults at any level of ability, including professional athletes
  • Microsurgical repair of severe injuries to the fingers, hands, arms, feet and legs, including reattachment of severed parts as well as Muscular free flaps
  • Pediatric orthopedics, including scoliosis, spinal deformities, and other congenital and developpemental conditions for children and adolescents
  • Diabetic foot infection in collaboration with the infectious disease and endocrinology services. We have a very low rate of amputation for these patients
  • Trauma Surgery and poly-trauma care including the upper extremity and lower extremity, pelvis, acetabulum and other bones and joints, isolated fractures/dislocations, and poly-trauma.
  • Additionally, we treat complications of fracture, including infection, non-unions and mal-unions

Our Orthopedic surgeons in collaboration with the anesthesia department, use procedures whenever possible to reduce pain and speed recovery.
Before and after surgery, assistance from physician specialists trained in internal medicine, radiology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and other medical and surgical areas help speed recovery for our surgical patients.
